Gwen Rawls is a South Carolina native who had her heart stolen in Milan. Fine Italian shoes were the culprit and before long, vacation had become vocation.
Leveraging a background in international shipping, Gwen launched an Italian shoe boutique in the capital city of her home state in 2012. As the United States' retailer of some of the most sought after Italian designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Luciano Padovan, Cesare Paciotti, Luis Onofre, Baldan Luxury Shoes, Loriblu and Ballin, Gwen is proud to extend the brands that shaped her own style to women throughout the Southeast and excited to be part of Columbia's cultural transformation. From heels, pumps and mules to clutches and totes, Gwen offers Columbia shoppers a range of styles and colors to suit the sophisticated palate.
Gwen most recently served as a judge at the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Competition as well as serving as a judge in the 2013 Miss North Carolina-USA pageant.
In 2014, she was honored by the mayor of Columbia with the key to the city and was voted “Best Women’s Shoe Store” by the readers of Columbia Metropolitan Magazine. Gwen’s boutique was featured in an advertising campaign for the South Carolina Ports Authority.
South Carolina native Shanola Hampton visited the boutique last year and wore Gwen Rawls shoes while in Columbia, SC for the premier of her movie, Things Never Said.
Her online shop, GwenRawls.com is a representation of some of the exquisite products available at her Forest Drive boutique. With a combination of fashion know how, business sense and a feel for the needs of her customers, Gwen has swiftly built a reputation among local residents as a retailer who invests in her community.
